whoa, foreigners have to help the sch raise funds but the school doesnt even give the foreigners any scholarship or bursary awards. is that call fairness? does our sch have emphathy?
and 50 dollars is abit too much for a student. er, i met one unreasonable teacher who said "every pupil SHOULD raise till 50dollars"
without any family members ard in sg, i don't think i can even break 10 dollars lo!
i also think it is not fair for the foreigners and i also feels that not everyone of us come from a rich family, so not everyone of the pupils in the school can do like what all of you say... " ask parents each donate $50 than write relatives name. " and if all the students are rich do you think we would still have to donate and walk that walkathon ? -.-
1. The $50 is just a target. Those who are able,you try and hit the target or even better. Those who are not able, just try and get whatever you can. Those who want to question the need to raise the funds, obviously you were not paying attention during assembly.
2. We all, including teachers must try and help the ones who need more help. If you question as to what you must get before you help someone else, then your heart is in the wrong place and that makes me sad.

i think this topic should be closed. the pupils under fas will be affected by it, in a way. as this funds are for them. if i were one, i'll definetly be sad
I am married with 2 daughters.I went to Balestier Mixed Primary Scool followed by Victoria School and Nanyang JC.I was an Education Instructor in the Army and went to the College of PE for my Dip in Physical Education.I have been teaching since 1989 June, First in Henderson Secondary and then in Bukit Merah Secondary School. In 1995, I left for England, Loughborough to further my studies in PE and Sports Science. I graduated in 1997 with a second upper Honours degree.
I love to interact with students and helping them become better people. People who respect themselves and also respect others.

the foreginers come to singapore to study on their own record what. somemore the govt got reward scholarships to foreigners who are good as well
also, those ppl that we helped never get any bursaries or whatsoever why must we help?
